Handmade in Antwerp, “Checkmate No.3” – Custom terrazzo-edge chess board with vintage Staunton-inspired pieces
This one-of-a-kind chess set merges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary materiality. The board is framed in hand-cut terrazzo-style mosaic, laid piece by piece over a wooden base, and centered with natural stone-textured tiles in alternating matte black and off-white tones.
Chess pieces: vintage-inspired and fully carved, with pierced crown motifs, ornamental columns, and expressive knights. Each piece is a sculptural object in itself. Refined, tactile, and characterful. “Checkmate No.3” is meant to be played, displayed, and admired. A centerpiece for any interior.
